I think that in terms of a better essay A Changing Identity is "better." I think that the concept of identity is extremely hard to portray in sort of medium and often can be even harder to explain. However Schmidberger gives the reader a very good summary of the graphic, at least enough to not be confused during her analysis. Also during her analysis she gives a plethora of different examples that back up her claims.
I agree that "A Changing Identity" was a better essay. I also like how she gives a short summary so you are not confused about how the main character completely changes his identity. I like how she used examples like a change in the thought bubble type and the use of color to back up her statements.

I'm going to have to disagree with you! I found this close reading to be very heavy on summarization and not enough analysis. Although she does make her point clear, I feel as though there is too much background information clouding the more important aspects.
